Description
Built in 1927 by architect Charles C. Hartmann, the Guilford building was originally home to Greensboro Bank and Trust Company. It was the second tallest building at 13 stories, topped by the Jefferson building standing 17 stories high, also designed by architect Charles C. Hartmann. The style of the building is Renaissance Revival on the base floors. The upper floors are more sedate in design.
In 1993, the city auctioned off the property and it is now owned by Hallimar Properties, the management company formed by the small group of owners in 1993. Since that time, it has been updated and brought into the modern century and is home to a variety of businesses and telecommunication facilities.
