Description
'Blackbird Blues'
This fine fellow is a boat-tailed grackle, only found on the Atlantic Coast. Doesn't go inland much with the exception of Florida. They are in the Blackbird/Oriole family of birds.
Several blackbirds look very similar and it took me a bit of research to determine this one. Click on the closeup view over the bird to see the beautiful coloration of iridescent blue and purple tones.
The females look nothing like the males. In fact they look like a different bird altogether. They have brown, russet, and tan coloring. Some have brown eyes and some have the yellow eyes.
I've added a touch of artistic elements to the sky and background to compliment the beautiful iridescent blues and purples of the feathers of the blackbird.
