Description
One of the state's finest examples of Richardson Romanesque style of architecture is Statesville North Carolina's City Hall, formerly the U.S. Courthouse and Post Office. Built between 1890-92 Willoughby J. Edbrooke, supervising architect of the Treasury and contractor Peter Demens. Truly unique with the rich colors of the red pressed brick, terracotta, and Wadesboro sandstone. It's one of the few surviving public buildings in this style.
