Description
One of several beautiful and elegant old southern homes one comes across while touring around the towns and cities of North Carolina. This one was built in 1909 for Hugh Reid Scott, nephew of Governor David Settle Reid, whose family the town of Reidsville, North Carolina was named for. It's right on Hwy 158 just before you head into the town, on what was known as the Old Post Road, which is one of the historic areas of Reidsville.
The home currently remains in the family. There is a wonderful eagle's head hitching post near the sidewalk in front of this home. If you poke around my 'Architecture and More' gallery, it's there somewhere!
