Description
Known as Rainbow Row, this group of thirteen Georgian style row homes is one of the many historic sections of Charleston and one of the most photographed...how could I possibly resist that?!
The homes went through restorations in the 1930's and 1940's which seems to be when they became so colorful, thanks mostly in part to Dorothy Legge, wife of Judge Lionel Legge who purchased a group of the homes to restore in 1931.
She chose pink as the paint scheme to bring a bit of Caribbean color. Subsequent owners kept up with the bright pastel colors over the years. Thank you to Mrs Dorothy Porcher Legge for your contribution!
I've use some light texture layering over the image, hopefully making it a tiny bit different from the many other images of this row of homes!
