Cellar Anton's Italian Cafe located at 1628 Battleground Avenue in Greensboro NC, closed after 53 years of being a fixture in the community since 1960. Almost everyone native to the area has been to this establishment at one point or another in their life, including myself a time or two. One of the coolest things to me, particularly when I was young was dining in the 'cellar' downstairs where the food was delivered on a dumb waiter!
As with all things, over time life brings changes. Many will remember it used to be a white building instead of red but for as long as I can remember, it's always had the industrial contraptions on the rooftop that made everything work inside!
Sad news to hear of a family owned restaurant like this closing after so many years of lunches and dinners, coffee club, first dates, anniversaries, birthdays and wedding receptions and so much more. So many memories for so many people in the community.
My portfolio includes more traditional photography along with images enhanced with layers, textures, filters and other effects blended with the original image.
